Our Spooktacular Dog Parties

The Halloween season is a great excuse for our team (and some dogs) to get dressed up in their best Halloween costumes.

Each year we decorate our centres with spiders webs, carved pumpkins, ghosts, skeletons and more to provide a fun filled few weeks of enrichment that everyone enjoys. The type of activities we do with the dogs include:

  • Pumpkin Carving
  • Bobbing For Apples
  • Halloween Assault Courses
  • Doggy Trick or Treat
  • Hide & Seek With Halloween Toys

These games are designed to provide our dogs with physical & mental enrichment and you only need to look at their faces (or tails) to see how much they enjoy it. Take a look at last years Spooktacular party gallery to see for yourself.

Halloween Ideas For Dogs

Here are some other ideas of how to get your dog involved in some Halloween fun at home.

  • Take Your Dog Trick Or Treating

Take your dog with you when you go trick or treating. There are some great Halloween dog costumes out there to choose from. Why not turn your pup into a spider, a bat or even a ghost! A great way to get their evening walk in, making it more fun for everyone involved.

  • Create A Pumpkin Puzzle Treat

Carve out a pumpkin and add some dog dog friendly snacks inside such as apple slices, peanut butter, carrots and yoghurt. Pop the lid on and let your dog figure out how to get their tasty treats.

  • Make A DIY Halloween Toy

Get some old fabric and make some halloween themed toys. This could be a stuffed ghost made out of an old shirt or a scary spider with braided legs to be used as a tug toy.

Pumpkin Dog Snack Ideas

Did you know pumpkin is a great snack to give your dogs? When given in moderation it offers a wide range of benefits including:

  • Helps With Digestive Health: Pumpkin is rich in fibre, which can help regulate your dog’s digestive system. It is particularly good for dogs who are suffering with constipation or diarrhoea. Pumpkin will add bulk to stools and will help promote regular bowel movements.
  • Gives A Nutrient Boost: Pumpkin is packed with essential nutrients such as vitamins A, C, and E, along with potassium and iron. These all contribute to a healthy immune system and skin.
  • Offers Hydration: Pumpkin has a high water content, which helps keep dogs hydrated. Great for dogs that don’t drink much water.
  • Is A Low-Calorie Treat: Since pumpkin is low in calories and fat, it’s an excellent treat for dogs. An excellent choice for dogs who need to maintain or lose weight.

Our pumpkin snack post gives you some ideas on how to offer pumpkin as a tasty treat for your pooch including monster mash pumpkin, boo biscuits, Frankenstein’s frozen treats and witches’ wedges.
