Puppy Socialisation at Bruce’s

Puppy socialisation is a key aspect of what we do at Bruce’s. We understand how important this stage of life is and how being surrounded by dogs of similar age can be beneficial to your dog’s wellbeing. This is why we created our dedicated puppy school to help new dog owners give their dogs the best start in life.

Our Puppy School

Our puppy schools structure combines puppy socialisation and enrichment with the use of positive reinforcement carrying them through to our graduation process.

With our expert knowledge and experience we have created a programme for puppies from the age of 12 weeks.

When preparing for a puppy we feel it is important you consider bringing your puppy to day care to expose it to other dogs and humans in a safe, fun and fulfilling way. We also care about you, their owners. By leaving your pup in our capable hands you no longer need to worry about leaving them at home for too long whilst you’re busy with life. We can also help with basic training and offer advice and guidance if needed.

Welcome Meeting

The first time your puppy arrives at school we will have a friendly 1-2-1 welcome meeting where we get to know all we need about your puppy

We will confirm details including their name, breed, age, what food they eat, what type of personality they have, how their basic puppy training is going and if there are any health issues we should be aware of

Puppy Introductions

They will then be introduced to the puppy school team and the other puppies in our care.

We will always be at hand watching closely to make sure your pup is making new friends. These social interactions are key for all puppies.

Enrichment Activities

Throughout the morning the preschool pups will engage in a variety of enrichment activities designed specifically for young dogs.

Dog enrichment helps engage their minds and bodies.

Lunch & Sleep

Around midday we will feed them lunch, which you have kindly provided, to make sure your puppy gets all the nutrients they need whilst with us.

After their food it is important your puppy catches up on their sleep. Socialisation is key at this age in a dog’s life but so is sleep!

We have some great indoor spaces that are the perfect place for some downtime and naps.

Throughout their time at puppy school, we will always keep you updated on your puppy’s progress as well as sharing weekly pictures with you.

Puppy Graduation

Graduating puppy school is the biggest step your puppy will make so we make sure we set them up for success.

Once we feel they are ready we slowly introduce adult dogs who are experienced with puppies to ensure they feel confident and ready to meet their new friends. We will transition out of puppy preschool across 1 or 2 weeks taking it at their pace.

Celebrate doggy friendships

Dogs of all ages love the company of other dogs!

At Bruce’s we support dogs and people to form enriching and long-lasting friendships. The first six months of a puppy’s life are key in ensuring they gain those vital life and social skills.

Our team of dog experts are here to help make every day the best day ever. They do this by designing fun ways to cater to and nurture every dog’s individual needs, providing puppy socialisation experiences throughout their time in puppy school and continuing throughout their entire doggy day care lives.
