Jess and her field pals at Bruce's Doggy Day Care Surrey Hills

At Bruce’s, we’re always investing in what matters most – your dog’s comfort, safety, and happiness.

Over the past three years, we’ve invested an average of more than £150,000 annually in our centres, and this year alone, we’ve gone even further, with over £180,000 in improvements across our centres. These investments ensure every Bruce’s is the very best it can be, especially as we head into the colder months.

Here are just a few of the upgrades we’ve made:

  • Weatherproof Play: New all-weather surfaces and in-field shelters – including stretch tents and pasture coverings – mean the fun doesn’t stop when it rains. We’ve also added more trees and shrubs to help manage wet ground naturally.
  • Care Behind the Scenes: From upgraded wash stations to maintenance of our heated dog showers, we’re committed to keeping every space safe, clean and enriching.

But it’s not just about facilities, it’s about creating spaces that let dogs truly thrive. Across our centres, you’ll find natural, thoughtfully designed field features that encourage exploration, play and relaxation. From shady spots under new trees to open fields made for zoomies, every detail is designed to let dogs be dogs.

These upgrades reflect our ongoing promise to lead the way in dog care; not just meeting standards, but exceeding them.

Each our our field elements has been carefully chosen or curated to nurture your dog’s natural abilities, which fall into one of our five core enrichment principles:

Kennels

Each feature encourages natural behaviours while stimulating dogs mentally, physically, and socially. Here’s a closer look at what you’ll often see across our fields:

Log Piles

Perfect for sniffs, hiding, digging, and exploring, log piles also allow us to introduce natural scents like salmon oil or deer blood to enrich dogs’ experiences.

Tunnels

These encourage chasing, hiding, and other natural behaviours. Made from natural materials, they’re great for fun while keeping our carbon pawprint low.

Dig and Bark Pits

A staple in any dog’s day, these areas satisfy digging and burying instincts while stimulating the mind.

Teepee Huts

A recent addition at our Altrincham Tiny Town field, teepee huts give dogs a space to do their own thing and enjoy a little privacy.

Splash Pools & Swim Spots

Perfect for water-loving pups! Large pools and splash zones allow dogs to cool off, get wet, and play energetically during warmer months.

Stretch Tents

Providing extra shade, shelter, and rest areas, these tents help ensure dogs stay comfortable and safe in all weather.

Kennels

Lean-tos & Structured Shelter Areas

More options for shelter and relaxation, these structures let dogs retreat when they need a break.

Bridges, Tyre Structures & Climbing Areas

These encourage exploration, problem-solving, and playful physical activity.

Cabins

Indoor heated cabins are perfect for colder months or sunny days, providing cosy spaces for rest and lunch breaks.

Trees, Bushes & Planting

Natural greenery keeps our outdoor spaces stimulating, enriching, and grounded in the natural world.

Kennels

We’re constantly looking for new ways to improve our fields and learn from the dogs themselves. Their curiosity and energy inspire every new feature we add!
