Dog Advent Calendar Taste Test

Kennels
Dog in Christmas jumper excited for Christmas

The Christmas countdown is on!

We all know that the countdown to Christmas is just as exciting as the day itself.

Christmas advent calendars offer us humans a tasty chocolate treat each morning to help us get through those colder starts and build up the anticipation for that special day. Now, thanks to some furbulous canine companies, your dog can have their very own dog advent calendar and join in with the festivities too!

With so many doggy advert calendar choices out there, how will you know which your pooch will prefer? Luckily, we have a whole pack of four-legged taste testers on hand to give their verdict. We rounded up three of this year’s hottest dog advent calendars and took to the fields to find out!

Kennels

Scrumbles Advent Calendar

First up, the Scrumbles advent calendar. After a full sniffspection from our Puppy Pre-school, it was time for them to show us their best ‘Sit’, ready to sample the tasty, all natural treats inside. Each window holds 2-3 delicious grain and gluten free treats – from dog dental sticks to chicken nibbles. It’s safe to say they went down a storm! We loved the affordability and variety of treats in this one, perfect to keep them engaged throughout December.

Skippers Advent Calendar

Next it was the turn of the Skippers advent calendar – which is definitely one for the fish lovers! Our pooches went wild for the smell of the fishy delights – especially the fish skin cubes. The gourmet calendar also features salmon and white fish cubes, which Bagel the beagle gave 12/10 for tastiness! It’ll definitely be a very Merry FISH-mas with this advent calendar!

Kennels

Lily’s Kitchen Advent Calendar

Next comes the Lily’s Kitchen advent calendar. While these Christmas meat-inspired treats may be more towards the high-end, our dogs absolutely loved them (when we could prize them away from Ted the labrador!) The grain free and chewy treats each had over 68% meat content, so good luck giving in to those puppy dog eyes with this one. The elegant packaging makes this advent calendar even more a showstopper.

Kennels

Marleybones Advent Calendar

We then have Marleybones Advent Calendar. These festive, UK-baked treats are definitely on the premium side, but it’s safe to say that our pups went crazy for them – especially with two fairly large chews behind every window. They’re completely natural with no grains, fillers, or artificial additives, so they’re a great option if you want something both wholesome and indulgent. The classy packaging also makes this one stand out.

Kennels

Pooch & Mutt Advent Calendar

We then moved on to the Pooch & Mutt Advent Calendar, which offers two small treats behind each window – each made with high-protein pork and collagen. This one’s great for pups that need a little extra tummy love, as they contain added probiotics to support your dog’s digestion. A healthy, tasty and more affordable option that balances festive fun with wellness.

Kennels

Pooch & Mutt Advent Calendar

Last, but by no means least it was time to round off out taste test with Wainwrights Advent Calendar. This Pets at Home exclusive offers two different treat types, which keeps things fresh and interesting. It’s a high-protein option and the treats are freeze-fried, raw-style for max flavour and nutrition. Atlas and his furry friends were practically jumping for joy to get a sniff!

It’s clear that there are plenty of options for our furry friends this Christmas. The best choice ultimuttly depends on your dog’s tastes and preferences, but these dog advent calendars all get a 12/10 from our Bruce’s pooches! So, as we count down to the festive season, consider treating your dog to their own doggy advent calendar to make their holiday season as joyful and tasty as can be!

Bruce’s Dogs At Christmas

Tasting dog advent calendars are just one way we have fun with our dogs at Christmas time.

The teams across all of our centres get fully involved with the fun of Christmas. From meeting Santa, Christmas jumper day to playing with snow and eating tasty dog treats. Take a look at our Christmas crackers dog gallery to see how much fun our dogs got up to last Christmas.

If you would like your dog to get involved this December why not give them the early gift of doggy day care? Find out more about our doggy day care enrolment process and discover what local doggy day care services are available in your area.
