A Helping Paw

Looking back on 2023, we made great strides in our work with charities and local communities.

In June, we asked our colleagues for their view on where we should be focussing our charitable efforts. The overwhelming feedback was that our teams have a passion to support animal charities local to our Bruce’s centres.

Since then, we have established relationships with three fantastic charities: Birmingham Dogs Home, Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare and Mayhew. Together, we have delivered a whole host of events, from our Pooch Pool Party at the Saltdean Lido in Brighton, to our very own Christmas fairs, as well as innovative fundraising initiatives, such as Christmas tree bauble sponsorship, a pick your own “Pumpkin Patch” and Bruce’s twist on Christmas jumper day to name a few.  

The tireless work of our incredible colleagues combined with your generosity in supporting our events and initiatives, together, we have raised a tail-wagging £7,260 for charity in 2023, along with 2 Bruce’s van loads of gifts ranging from dog beds to toys. That’s a pawsome 83.5% increase on our previous donations. 

Your kindness and commitment has truly made a genuine difference to the lives of many dogs and other animals in our local communities. Thank you, and we look forward to building on this fantastic achievement in 2024.
