Dog leads
When it comes to the world of dogwear and knowing what’s best for your dog it can be a daunting task, especially for any first time dog owner. We caught up with our Expert Dog Coaches to bring you our top recommendations on the best leads, harnesses, collars and coats.
Our number one favourite is the perfect fit dog harness, designed with interchangeable pieces measured for all shapes, ages, and sizes making it snug, safe and a comfortable fit for your dog. An alternative option would be Snuggle Pets fleece harnesses.
If your dog has never worn a harness don’t assume they will be comfortable straight away. You’ll need to build up a positive association and familiarise your dog to their new harness.
There are different collars that work better for different dogs. For example, for a sighthound we’d recommend a Martingale collar. These collars are wider than most and help protect a larger surface area of their neck, along with distributing pressure evenly.
Both buckled and clip collars can be just as good as each other. Just make sure to take into account the weight of the buckle on your dogs neck along with the sturdy and security fastening.
Brachycephalic breeds don’t necessarily need a collar and would be more comfortable with a fitted harness.
Avoid choke, prong and half check collars.
